Exceptional 1/8th bent Billiard shape with a handcut Black Ebonite stem with a straight grain briar inlay. The blast on this one shows alot of ring grain and straight grain coming through the well defined blast of the pipe. The staining is what I call a burnt Orange color and goes well with the natural briar inlay on the stem. The briar inlay shows excellent straight grain also. The top of the pipe was left as a plateau and gives the pipe a nice rugged look, yet well refined. I left the bowl natural with no coating for those who prefer their pipes uncoated. This is a large Billard about an ODA+ in size. I counted 37 rings in the blast which makes this piece of briar 37 years old! The pipe has nice thick walls as you can see and are about 1/2" thick. That will make this one a cool smoke for sure. The pipe is marked with my *XL* stamp in the nomenclature to designate the large size. The measurements are as follows: 7/8" dia. bowl is 2 3/8" deep.
