Beautiful Greatline shape with a hand cut Black Ebonite stem with a Koa wood inlay. This pipe shows excellent ring grain which is deep and craggy, around the entire bowl and shank The graining of the pipe is so good that it makes this one a *Caliper Grade* pipe, which you can read about on my *About Me* page. The grade is saved for the best ring grains with even graining and depth around the entire pipe. The pipe has tons of rings around the bowl, and I counted ovedr 30 seperate rings encircling it! That makes just this piece of briar over 30 years old! The top of the pipe was left with the plateau and was stained a deep Black color which goes well with the Reddish/Brown coloring on the bowl and shank. This is the first I have ever made in this finish with the Black plateau top only on it. The Koa wood inlay goes really well with the Brownish highlites coming through the staining of the pipe. The Koa wood inlay also has a nice iridescent quality to it with lots of depth in the wood. The pipe has nice thick walls all the way down to the bottom to ensure a cool smoke. This is an*XL* sized pipe which is stamped in the nomenclature to designate it as such. The pipe is about an ODA+ sized pipe. The measurements are as follows: 7/8" dia. bowl is 2 1/4" deep. Outside the bowl is 2 5/8" high and the length of the pipe is 6 5/8" long. $695.00 plus shipping, (international shipping is extra) comes with my leather pipe glove and box.SOLD
