Awesome Smooth Natural Vergen Volcano with a hand cut saddle bit Cumberland stem. WOW! Does this pipe ever have straight grain. This is the first Natural Vergen that I have ever finished that had this good of grain on it. The grain is angel hair fine all the way around the bowl and perfectly up the shank. The briar on this pipe is the cleanest piece of wood I have ever worked on. The only way I can see any tiny tiny sand pits is if I use a loop, they re tiny and only a few also. I have never seen a piece of briar this clean before. The pipe is graded with my *Caliper * grade which is saved for only the best of the best smooth shapes. I left it the Natural finish because the pipe is so clean. It is mind boggling how clean it is. The pipe has very good birdseye also on the top and bottom of the bowl. The pictures dont do this pipe any justice at all either. This is also the first Caliper grade smooth I have produced this year, actually it has been well over a year since I had a Caliper grade smooth, I think the last one was the beginning of 2006. The Cumberland stem is very comfortable to hold in your teeth, and you can because the pipe only weighs 58 grams. The pipe is very well balanced in the teeth also. It also will sit on the table and stand up no problem. The pipe passes a cleaner with ease also. The pipe has nice thick walls which will ensure a cool smoke. Also this one will color up really nice once it is smoked as it was a very porous piece of briar. The pipe is about a large group 5 small group 6 in size. If you would like me to coat the bowl please let me know and I will do so before I ship it out to you. The pipe measure: 7/8" dia. bowl is just over 1 1/2" deep. Outside the bowl is 2" high and the length of the pipe is 5 7/8" long. $995.00 plus shipping, comes with my leather pipe glove and box.SOLD
