Awesome blasted Lovat with a hand cut Cumberland saddle bit stem. The blast on this pipe is awesome with perfect ring grain going around the entire bowl with no bald spots at all. The blast is also evenly deep and craggy around the entire bowl and down the shank. The ring grain originates at a dime size spot on the bottom of the bowl and radiates upwards evenly. Just a beautiful looking pipe. This pipe is graded with my *Caliper grade which is saved for the best of the best. Only a few of these are made each year to qualify for this stamp. The last time I had a Caliper grade was last year just after the Chicago show. So it has been some time. The Cumberland stem matches the staining perfectly. The stem is very comfortable to hold in your teeth also, and at 48 grams you can all day without tiring of it. The pipe is about a group 4 in size. This is the smallest Caliper grade I have ever done, all of the previous ones were larger in size. Nice thick walls at 3/8" thick will ensure a cool smoke. The pipe measures: 13/16" dia. bowl is just under 1 1/2" deep.
